Botanical Family: Tagestes ( Family: Asteraceae) also known as Southern Cone Marigold

The bright-orange blooms of the Tagetes minuta plant, often known as the Mexican Marigold, are steam distilled to create our naturally made Tagetes Essential Oil, also known as Tagetes Marigold Essential Oil. The essential oils has a strong, warm, sweet-herbaceous, distinctive ketonic (pungent) aroma with a very powerful fruity undertone, reminiscent of green apple.

Southern Cone Marigold or Tagestes (Asteraceae) Southern Cone Marigold, or Tagestes (Family: Asteraceae), is a native of the southern half of South America. To date, it has spread over the globe and has adapted to a wide range of climates and environments. It's a tall, stout shrub with tiny white flowers. There are no separate leaflets in the leaves, which are either lobed or unlobed. Both teeth and lobes can be found on the leaf blade. There is a tubular disk and ray flowers in the center of the flower head.
